Emergency School Closing, Cancellation or Delay Plans
SOURCES OF INFORMATION
CANCELLATION
In the event of inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances which indicate the cancellation of school before the start of the school day, the following plan will be instituted:
By 5:45 a.m., the Principal, in collaboration with the Facilities Manager, and after consulting with local weather forecasters, will contact Kelly Curran who will trigger an e-mail message to all households of the school with information regarding the cancellation of school on that day. This information will also be relayed to the listed radio and Television stations in the local area. If it is deemed necessary, the classroom phone tree will also be engaged.
If circumstances warrant closing earlier (the night before) the message will be relayed at an appropriate time, especially in the event of multiple day closings.
DELAYED START TO THE SCHOOL DAY
If circumstances warrant a delay to the beginning of the school day by one or two hours, the same plan as outlined in the Cancellation Plan will be instituted.
EARLY DISMISSAL
In the event that the school has to dismiss early due to weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances, the e-mail system will be triggered as well as the classroom phone tree will be utilized. Parents are advised to keep your emergency information up to date with both the School office and your children's teacher.
